Since 2006, Caversham Education Institute has offered world-class, in-service training for ECD teachers, practitioners and preschool owners. We are an accredited, not-for-profit training provider, and our mission is to transform communities by empowering, educating and equipping women to own and work in ECD centres as sustainable businesses.
Many of our students are already working in preschools and cannot afford the full cost of a qualification. Your funding removes that barrier. One sponsored teacher goes on to shape hundreds of young children, and often opens or leads her own ECD centre.

Funder FAQs
Will I get a tax certificate?
Yes. Caversham Education Institute is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930056846), and we issue Section 18A tax certificates so South African donors can claim a deduction from SARS. Please include your name, ID or company registration number, and address when you give.
Who are the teachers I’m funding?
Mostly women already working in, or starting, ECD centres and preschools, who want an accredited qualification to grow their skills, confidence and careers.
How will I know how my funding was used?
Individual donors receive an email receipt and an impact update. Organisation funders receive a report on the teachers sponsored, their progress and how the funds were spent.
Is Caversham accredited?
Yes. We are accredited by the ETDP SETA (No. 5896) and the QCTO (No. 05-QCTO/SDP180625082516), and registered as an NPO (171-992).
Can I sponsor a teacher at a specific campus?
Yes. Our campuses include Durban Musgrave, Durban Highways, Pietermaritzburg, Kwambonambi (Zululand), Port Shepstone, and Cape Town (Northern Suburbs, Southern Suburbs and Stellenbosch). Add the campus to your payment reference or note, and we’ll allocate your gift there.
Is paying online safe?
Yes. Online payments are handled by a registered South African payment provider. Card details are encrypted and never reach our website.
