Words of wisdom from 2 diploma students to future students

Feel inspired to one day inspire….. Learning is done every day all day. We learn from sights and smells and our senses are constantly gathering information. Remember to learn from everything around you. The children you teach are the most willing teachers. They offer an innocent insight into topics that we as adults may never consider. Co-operative learning is a blessing and should never be ignored. Encourage your children to speak, and listen when they do. Ask questions and offer advice and encouragement. Question their theories and praise their statements. Children are the greatest educators of all. They teach us to see the world through innocence and beauty. Do not restrict your teaching to the classroom walls. Children find joy in discovery. Learn from them. Learn from their innocence and pure hearts. Share in their knowledge and give them yours. Praise them, nurture them and listen to them. Children are the most giving of educators. Embrace that.

This is my inspirational and motivational letter to you today. I want to equip you with a survival kit, to embrace you and for you to enjoy this journey.
I would like to share the benefits of working cooperatively. Co-operative working with others requires not only the skills and knowledge for the tasks at hand but skills and knowledge for working in a team. To work effectively with others, it is important that you communicate openly, honestly and at appropriate times. Be flexible in your approach. Be open to new ideas. Demonstrate acceptance of the values, beliefs and opinions of others. Be willing to contribute and fully participate in moving towards group goals. Use problem-solving skills. Recognize the unique skills and abilities of others. Acknowledge the contribution of others to the group goals. Always maintain the approach agreed upon by your team. Respecting individual differences is one of the basic ground-rules for working with others in a group. From this starting point, you can agree to disagree and work together towards a solution on the understanding that all contributions to the group will be valued. Respect for individual differences is demonstrated in a number of ways including a willingness to ask for the views of others, a willingness to listen, a willingness to be accepting and non-judgmental of others and willingness to compromise.
In closing I want to leave you with this thought that it is essential that you learn to cope with criticism. Even that you actively seek it. Learn to listen to valid constructive criticism, finding any pearls of wisdom buried therein.
An amazing thing …….
An amazing thing happens when you get honest with yourself and start doing what you love, what makes you happy.
Your life literally slows down.
You stop wishing for the weekend.
You stop merely looking forward to special events
You begin to live each moment and you start feeling like a human being.
You just ride the wave that is life, with this feeling of contentment and joy
You move fluidly, steadily, calm and grateful
A veil is lifted and a whole new perspective is born.
